Memories Like This

Hello again my friends :) I cannot believe how time flies and there just never seems to be enough hours in a day to get through everything that needs to be done.  If only us humans didn't need to sleep. I love my sleep but at times like this it just seems like such a waste of time:) It is time for my next post at Maja Design and here it is. My gorgeous daughter and her awesome fiancee Justin. I am so honoured to be able to arrange their upcoming wedding in October and there is still soooo much to do!! Time is short, short, short now!! So exciting!!

I used paper from the following collections:

Here is a little close-up of the pretty Petaloo flowers:)

All the stamping on this page was done with Kaisercraft Clear Stamps.

When I started this layout I was very inspired by a Sketch from Sketchabilities but unfortuantely it went horribly wrong and this is how it ended up :)

And with this I am going to love and leave you until next time.

Cath xx

Be.YOU.tiful

Hi there!! Gosh, I feel like a stranger to my own blog :( It's been such a long time since I visited my little space here that I can barely remember how to do this bloggy thing. I'll just have to wing it as I did with my first scrapbook page in over a year and just hope for the best. Last night I was not a very happy camper when I went to bed. I was irritated, angry, frustrated and so disappointed in myself because I just couldn't get my page to even remotely look balanced or even slightly acceptable for that matter. I woke up this morning and somehow it all kind of came together after I literally spread all my stash all over the floor. It was like Christmas all over again and I felt like I met up with lots of long-lost friends and new friends too because even though I didn't scrap during this past year, I still collected a few new little items here and there. It was rather exciting. I guess the saying "once an addict, always an addict" is so true :) I am still undergoing treatment and still have a few months to go and that is okay because you know what? I will get to see my daughter walking down the aisle on her daddy's arm. A year ago I thought that I may never see that day. Now, besides my daughter's wedding, I can only hope that everything is going to be okay so I will get to see my grandchildren some day too :) I am eternally grateful for all the wonderful support I've had and am still having from my family and friends. You just cannot do cancer on your own. I've always thought of myself as a very strong person but cancer has a way of bringing you down a notch or two and that is when you actually realize how fragile life is and how vulnerable we really are. But, enough of that now...

I made this layout as my first project for Maja Design after a long leave of absence. It is wonderful to be back there. Thanks so much for dragging me back here Jenny. If not for you I would still not be scrapping and I would still not remember how much I loved it and still do :)  This beautiful girl in the photo is my darling daughter Heidi. Yes I am biased and I am allowed to be ...hahaha!!

I used paper from three beautiful collections as seen below:)

Here are a few close-ups of my page:)

The flowers and the brick stamp is from Prima. The little wispy bits you see amongst the flowers are just pieces of paper which I sliced super-thin and that way you achieve a natural sort of curl. The peachy ribbon flowers came out of my stash and goodness knows where I got them from. The branches were cut with a die from Memory Box called "Woodland Branch" and I got all these yummy items from my special friend Merle at  Scrap and Card Boutique.

The beautiful leafy circle is also from Memory Box called "Tupelo Circle" and I adorned it slightly with some Perfect Pearls. Both butterflies are stamps from Marianne Design called Eline's Huis. I stamped them, cut them out and stuck it on. The title work is done with clear stamps fromChiswick and the stamp on the corner of the photo is a tiny little Prima stamp.

The little circles above and to the bottom left of the photo (sorry, I forgot to take a close-up of them) is just a little bottle top I saw lying on my shelf and I grabbed it, dabbed  on some ink and stamped it on the page and stuck a drop of Perfect Pearls inside the little circles. I liked it:)

This page is also my entry for the July challenge at Scrap Around The World. I was very much inspired by the little photo on the top left. The colour in Heidi's scarf  is almost a perfect match to the colour of that beautiful little chest of drawers:)

And that my friends, is my story for today:) Now, I just need to keep on scrapping so my mojo can start flowing and if all goes well, I will see you again real soon :) The last few days have been absolutely freezing here but I love the cold weather right now. So for those of you experiencing winter in all its' glory, keep warm, be happy and take care. :) xxx

Delta

A very good morning to all my friends :) This is my darling teddy bear Rottweiler Delta. She's never too sure about a camera aimed at her but because she is always so ready to please, she patiently puts up with me for as long as it takes to get the deed done...lol!! I did this project  for Maha Design using their gorgeous Walking In The Forest collection.

Beautiful - Maja Design

Hello ladies :) Here is another project done for Maja Design as guest CT member for July. I tell you, I will never get enough of these beautilicious paper. I just love how so many of the collections mixes and matches so beautifully. I also took the opportunity to use Jules' beautiful June sketch over at Paperhaus.

Here is a close-up of the large flower I made and I used a lovely Shabbychic loop flower tutorial sent to me by my lovely friend Miri. These flowers are so incredibly easy to make and I just love them. I used a piece of thin cotton fabric and just coloured it with distress ink in Victorian Velvet.

The vine is a home-made job.
The little Victorian dressing table ws just coloured with water colour pencils and then I just gave it a little bit of crackle treatment and I'm still in two minds as to whether I should have put it on this page or not but now it's too late to change my mind. The golden circles was done with Deco Arts Metallic Paint.

Here are the gorgeous papers I used.

Vintage Summer Basics - 1926 BS

Vintage Summer Basics - 1923
Vintage Summer Basics - 1924

And that my friends, is all for today. Have a wonderful weekend and as always, I really do appreciate your visits very much:)

Cape Vidal - Maja Design

Hello there friends:) I have once again been honored with a guest spot at Maja for the month of July and I created this layout for the July mood board over at Maja Design. The mood board is based on Maja's  Life By The Sea collection. The photos in the mood board is of Marie's family taken on the Swedish West Coast and as Jenny says, it's a pure sea mood board to make you long for that kind of life. So inspiring....:) The two very special people in my photo is my darling daughter and her fiancee Justin at Cape Vidal on the North Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa.

I used the following papers:
Marina - BS

Navigate - BS

Drop The Anchor

Islands and Skerries - BS

Bottle Message

Gone Fishing

Ladies, please drop in at Maja and have a look at the beautiful projects by the creative team this month :) Now I am going to crawl into bed...I can barely keep my eyes open and to add to that, it is raining so hard and right now I am freezing!! Till next time...have fun, take care and happy scrapping!!xx

Maja design - Sofiero Collection - Limited edition

Smell the roses while you walk through The Rose Paths of Sofiero. You can see the fairytale castle glimps in the background while you stroll around the castle’s world famous gardens. Walk through Princess Margareta’s Flowerstreet and be amazed by her sense of colours and gardening. Head on to The Dahlia District before crossing the garden down to the gates by the sea. Listen to the waves and enjoy the sun. A wedding couple passes by giggling. The summer is here to stay.

Our new collection is a summer celebration to the historical gardens of Sofiero that is cared for and developed in honour of its legacy.

This exclusive collection consists of eight two sided 12×12 sheets and will only be in stock for a limited period of time. Here you can see the entire collection...isn't it just gorgeous!! Cannot wait to touch it and feel it and smell it and LOVE it!!
